iSatori Eat Smart Double Vanilla Ice Cream Whey Protein Review

Submitted by on February 17, 2012 – 1:00 pmNo Comment

I said I wanted to try some new whey protein powders and what more could I ask for with a flavor like “Double Vanilla Ice Cream”. That is, if it actually tasted like the name. Lets find out…

The macros are good on this. Low in sugar/sat fat and high in protein. A nice mixture of isolate (fast) and casein (slow) digesting proteins. Also has digestive enzymes/probiotics and BCAAs (4g per serving).

Another thing I like is that there is:

  • No fructose
  • No aspartame
  • No corn syrups
  • No hydrogenated oils

Although I believe everything is somewhat “fine” in moderation – I do tend to stay away from most of the above (or try to).

The smell is delicious when you first open it. I usually only drink my wheys with water but anything with “ice cream” needs at least one try mixed with milk. I used water first – it blended extremely easy. The taste was as “delicious” as the smell was. Really good vanilla taste with this one. Next I tried it with milk. It mixed as easy with milk as with water. The taste…was identical to a milkshake. This was probably one of my favorite flavors I’ve tried to date!

Overall:

  • Taste: 10/10 (Awesome and even “awesomer” in milk)
  • Cost: 7/10 (About $1/serving…so semi-high for a whey but offers more than normal wheys)
  • Healthiness: 8/10 (High in protein/fiber while being low in fat/sugars)

Also I feel I should state this in my reviews: I have no issue giving a company a bad review even if they do send me a product to try for free – they are NOT paying me for a positive review, these reviews all come from me with my complete honesty.
