DESIGNER WHEY Protein Blitz Grip Good Grape Review

The other day I happen to be in a Vitamin Shoppe and saw these things. I’m normally not a fruit flavored protein drinker since most of it tastes chalky but for some reason I decided to give this drink a try, and I’m glad I did. With 120 calories, 30 grams of protein, 1 gram of carbs, and 0 grams of fat, there’s not much to complain about. The sodium is even low at 45mg. It also contains 7.8g BCAAs. Even the ingredient list isn’t nearly as long as I thought it would be.

Ingredients: Purified Water, Whey Protein Isolate, Phosphoric Acid, Natural and Artificial Grape Flavor, Tartaric Acid, Sucralose, Potassium Benzoate, FD&C Blue #1, FD&C Red #40. Contains Mik.

That’s about 1/4 the list of a normal protein bar. Not bad, right?

As far as the taste goes, remember those grape freeze pops you use to eat as a kid? Yeah, that’s what this tastes like. Even when it “warms” up a bit it still tastes just as good. There is no chalky after taste like most fruity protein drinks.

I would highly recommend everyone try these. They could get a bit pricey if you drink them everyday, but for something “once in awhile” they are great…and the macros are even better. I’ll try and review some of the other flavors in the future.

Overall:

  • Taste: 10/10 (awesome)
  • Cost: 7.5/10 ($2.49+, kind of pricey but not too bad for what you get)
  • Healthiness: 10/10 (awesome macros)
