EatSmart Digital Bathroom Scale w/ Extra Large Backlit 3.5″ Display and Oversize Platform Review

Now I’m sure most of us have scales in our house that we usually either daily, weekly, and hopefully at least monthly to monitor our weight gain/loss. The thing is most scales aren’t accurate, and the ones that are usually cost way too much. I came across this EatSmart scale and have decided to review it. It appears at first glance to be a good quality scale that won’t break the budget. Is it? Well you’re about to find out.

When you first receive the scale it is packaged very securely. Unlike most companies nowadays who can’t “afford” to give you batteries with their product, this company includes 4 very good batteries that should last up to a year long according to the manual. That gives this scale brownie points already without even using it.

The scale itself is pretty much all glass besides the bottom. The glass is very thick and appears to be able to support a lot of weight. I would think, even if dropped, that this thing would not break or crack. The bottom pieces are made out of hard plastic. The overall build of the scale does not seem cheap at all.

There is no assembly required besides putting in the batteries. It is very easy to setup. After installing the batteries I noticed that to my surprise this scale can take accurate weight in Pounds, Kilograms, and Stones up to 330lbs (or 150kgs) in .2lb/.1kg graduations. That is something I’ve never seen in a scale that I have ever had.

Now you may be wondering if this scale is going to live up to all the hype. Short answer? Yes. Long answer? Look at the picture below

Right on the money. Not even .1 off. This scale accurately took the right weight of a 5lb olympic plate, 25lb dumbbell, 13.2lb medicine ball, and various other things I put on it the first try. It also accurately kept recording the same weight if I placed the same item and put it back on multiple times (most of the times weight will fluctuate on normal scales). The Kilogram and Stone readings were also right on the money.

The backlit LED is very bright and makes it very readable. The scale also comes with a 2 year warranty from EatSmart.

This is without a doubt the best quality, accurate, and function rich scale you can buy for your money. It goes for around $28-30 shipped on Amazon which is cheaper than most “basic” scales in normal stores.  Even if you aren’t on a budget I would save yourself some money and go with this scale.

  • Cost: 10/10 (Best scale for the money hands down)
  • Ease Of Use: 10/10 (Simple)
  • Overall: 10+/10
