Calbee Snack Salad Baked Snapea Crisps (Original Flavor) Review
I came across these awhile ago in my local health food store. Most health stores since then that I have come across now usually have these stocked. Unlike most companies nowadays that claim to have “valuable” qualities in choosing to eat (aka buy) their food, this snack food does not mention anything. The only thing remotely close to trying to “make” you buy this product is the picture on the outside…which does not look so appetizing.
This is probably not a product you pick up and think tastes all that good. They don’t look like they taste that great, aren’t loaded with tons of ingredients, and are pretty healthy for you. Well, the saying goes “don’t judge a book by its cover”, and it’s completely right here. I am personally addicted to these and think they taste great. The taste is hard to explain so I’m not even going to attempt to. Lets just say they don’t taste as healthy as they are (which is amazing).
You might be wondering the nutrition info, so here it is:
- Serving Size: 28g/22 pieces
- Calories: 150
- Total Fat: 8grams
- Saturated Fat: 1gram
- Sodium: 125mg
- Total Carbs: 14grams
- Dietary Fiber: 2grams
- Sugars: less than 1gram
- Protein: 5grams
Ingredients (NO ARTIFICIAL FLAVOR AND NO ARTIFICIAL COLOR): Green Peas, Corn Oil, Rice, Salt, Calcium Carbonate, Ascorbic Acid(Vitamin C)
See what I mean? The calorie information and ingredients are more than good for a “snack” food. I would definitely recommend you try these. If you don’t like them at first, try eating them a few times and you may end up finding yourself liking them a lot more. They aren’t going to taste as good as Doritos, but for something as healthy as these are, they are worth it. These are easily something you could eat every day to keep you sane/help you fight cravings and not let yourself feel guilty for eating bad, since they aren’t bad.
They also have another flavor “Caesar” that I have not tried. I will try and pick that up and review it within the next week or so.
Overall:
- Taste: 8/10 (good for what they are)
- Cost: 7.5/10 (around $2/bag with 3.3 servings a bag…not bad)
- Healthiness: 9/10 (a great healthy snack)
