Walden Farms Calorie Free Chocolate Syrup Review

Most of us on diets would think of chocolate syrup as being something to avoid. I know I did. However, while browsing my local grocery isle I found this bottle of sugar free, calorie free chocolate syrup by Walden Farms. I was skeptical at first, but after using it for a couple of months I can safely say that this is something you WILL want to purchase if you are looking to cut calories. It is absolutely incredible, and I cannot tell the difference between this and regular chocolate syrup.

One thing to remember, however, is that even though the bottle says that a serving (2 tablespoons) is 0 calories, it is really around 3.5. Companies are allowed to say a serving has 0 calories if it contains 5 or less calories. But still, 3.5 calories is definitely less calories than regular chocolate syrup.

There are many recipe ideas you can use this chocolate syrup in. Aside from the obvious ice cream, I found that it also goes good in oatmeal mixed with 1 tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa, mixed with cottage cheese (if you’re into that), and even mixed with coffee.

  • Taste: 8/10 (Hardcore chocolate lovers might tell the difference)
  • Cost: 5/10 ($4.00 here; kind of expensive compared to normal chocolate syrup)
